About the Oil: Pure clary sage essential oil steam distilled from the leaves and tops of clary sage plants grown in the USA. This is a wonderful, fresh, and bright variety of clary sage. We especially love it blended with lavender and orange.
Thought to have estrogen-like properties, this oil has been used to alleviate the symptoms of PMS. It is considered an anti-depressant, sedative, and aphrodisiac. It may calm a racing mind, and maybe helpful in developing lucid dreaming. Highly recommended for both therapeutic and aromatic applications.
Aroma: Fresh, herbaceous, slightly sweet, and warming.
Chemistry: One of the many natural chemical constituents is sclareol, which has an estrogen-like structure that may contribute to the health of tissues and cells.
Caution: Overuse of clary sage (and many other essential oils) can result in headache or dizziness, and can raise blood pressure. Your body will generally let you know when you've had too much of any oil. Use with extreme care and awareness of the body.
